HGA—The Hobby Greenhouse Association

Here’s an interesting group we discovered (actually, they discovered us when they requested permission to reprint something from GrowerTalks): the Hobby Greenhouse Association. They’ve been around since 1976, promoting the hobby of growing flowers and vegetables in home greenhouses, but they’ve struggled lately to find new members, especially younger ones, said Director of Publications, Tom Eckert.

They have an opportunity to really take off now, with the new interest in home food growing using a range of systems, including hydroponics and LED lights. They just need to keep up with the current technology.

Check them out at www.hobbygreenhouse.org and consider promoting the organization to your avid gardener friends and customers. You don’t have to have a hobby greenhouse; just the desire to grow and learn. GT
