Ann-Marie Vazzano
Nearly 70% of consumers have used social media to interact with a business in the past year, according to G/O Digital’s “The Social Side of Holiday Shopping” study. The survey also found for 55% of consumers, a brand’s social media presence has at least some influence on the holiday shopping decisions they make. Nearly three-quarters of consumers said it was important for local businesses to communicate via social media during the holiday season and 69% of respondents were inspired by local business’s posts on Facebook and Pinterest. And when consumers contact businesses via social media, they expect a prompt response, especially on Twitter. According to the survey, 21% of consumers expect a response on Twitter within one hour of contacting a brand and the majority expects to be contacted within one day on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
