A Gift That Keeps Giving

Amanda Thomsen
Article ImageUsing clippings (and even just pieces that get knocked off) from succulents to make money is a no-brainer, right? These gift tags are quick and easy to make, can be easily merchandised as ornaments from a small tree or branch, make great impulse purchases at the register and really dress up a present. And you can pick 90% of the materials off the floor under your succulent displays, if you want!

These succulents have been stripped of their roots and hot glued onto pre-made cork tags (49 cents at the craft store), but they still have killer longevity. However, they’ll keep best in a not-stiflingly-hot environment. Of course, refrigeration helps, too. You can mist them, lightly, once a week, as well. They’re WAY tougher than they look.

Glue some dyed (or not) reindeer moss to the tag first using hot glue, then layer up with assorted pieces of succulents. That's all! GP
